Profiles is hiring a Sr. Visual Content Specialist / Videographer in Saint Louis, MO for a full-time, onsite position with a leading higher education institution. This role sits within the central communications office and is responsible for end-to-end multimedia production, from pre-production planning and directing crews through to editing, motion design, and color work. It is the right fit for a seasoned videographer who has moved beyond execution-only work and is ready to lead projects and shape brand-level storytelling.

About the Role

You will be embedded in an award-winning creative team inside a major university’s communications department, producing high-visibility content that reaches academic, administrative, and research audiences. The day-to-day spans the full production workflow: developing scripts, scheduling shoots, conducting on-camera interviews, and delivering finished brand storytelling products. AI-supported production optimization is part of the toolkit here, which means this team is actively working at the edge of where institutional video production is heading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate institutional brand goals into on-brand multimedia deliverables across video, motion graphics, and related formats.
  • Lead pre-production on each project, including script development, shot planning, and building realistic production schedules.
  • Direct production crews on location and in studio, managing talent, crew coordination, and technical execution.
  • Conduct recorded interviews with faculty, staff, and research subjects, then edit all components into complete post-production deliverables.
  • Apply motion design, colorization, and AI-assisted tools during the post-production workflow to bring projects to final delivery standards.
  • Serve as a day-to-day lead within the visual content team, providing editorial direction and maintaining production quality across concurrent projects.

What You Bring

  • 3 or more years of hands-on production and videography experience across the full production cycle.
  • Proficiency in editing, motion design, and color grading within professional post-production software.
  • Experience writing scripts and directing crews, not just operating camera.
  • Working knowledge of AI-supported production tools as applied to video and motion content.
  • Strong graphic design skills that cross over into branded video and motion work.
  • Organized enough to manage multiple projects and stakeholders without dropping details.

Why This Role
