About the Role

Sitting within the Digital department at CCHQ Conservative Campaign Headquarters, this editor works directly alongside the social media and content teams to deliver campaign material that performs on platform. The day-to-day post-production workflow spans everything from repurposing long-form speeches and interviews to originating short-form cuts built specifically for vertical and square formats. Thumbnail design is part of the brief, requiring a clear visual instinct for what drives click-through on political and news-adjacent content.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form video content, including speeches and policy announcements, for YouTube distribution with attention to pacing and message clarity.
• Cut short-form derivatives from source footage, optimising each version for the specific aspect ratios and viewing behaviours of Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook Reels.
• Design thumbnail assets that communicate the editorial message of each video and are consistent with the campaign’s visual identity.
• Manage multiple concurrent edits within a high-volume social media content pipeline, maintaining quality across quick-turnaround deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with the social media team on platform strategy to ensure each edit is formatted, captioned, and structured for algorithmic and audience performance.
• Maintain organised project files and version control across the post-production workflow to support fast revisions and cross-team handoffs.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable experience editing social media content professionally, with a portfolio showing platform-native cuts across at least two major channels.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable professional NLE, with practical motion graphics skills in Adobe After Effects.
• Proven ability to work within a high-output digital content pipeline where multiple projects are in progress simultaneously.
• Experience creating thumbnail assets using Adobe Photoshop or equivalent, with an understanding of visual hierarchy in a political or news context.
• Comfort working from raw rushes, structured briefs, or pre-produced footage depending on what the content schedule demands.
