Job Position(s): Video Editor & Motion Designer, Brand Studio
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $89000 - $122000/year

Motive is hiring a Video Editor & Motion Designer for its Brand Studio team, based in-house and focused on marketing and brand content across campaigns, social, web, and events. This role sits within a centralized brand creative function, where the output ranges from paid media cuts and organic social content to customer storytelling pieces and event visuals, all built around a defined brand motion language. It suits an editor and motion designer who is equally comfortable in a timeline as they are in After Effects, and who has spent time working inside a brand studio, agency, or creative marketing environment.

About the Role

The Brand Studio at Motive operates as an internal creative agency, partnering with marketing, product marketing, growth, and regional teams to produce video and motion content that holds up across every channel. Day to day, this person is moving between editorial work in Premiere Pro and motion graphics builds in After Effects, managing multiple projects at different stages of post-production workflow, and translating briefs and stakeholder feedback into finished deliverables. The scope includes everything from first cut through versioning, delivery, and iteration after launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own video projects end to end across the full post-production workflow, from story development and assembly edit through final delivery and versioned cuts for different platforms and formats.
  • Edit brand campaign content, paid social and organic social assets, web video, and customer documentary-style pieces that meet both creative and performance goals.
  • Build and integrate motion graphics, kinetic typography, and animation sequences that reinforce Motive’s brand system in motion.
  • Translate creative briefs, director notes, and performance data into editorial decisions that improve pacing, clarity, and storytelling effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and help develop AI-assisted post-production tools for scripting support, footage organization, and versioning, applying them where they improve speed without compromising originality.
  • Manage file organization, versioning systems, and delivery specs across a concurrent slate of projects with cross-functional stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of experience in video editing and motion design inside a brand studio, creative agency, or marketing production environment.
  • Deep proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and strong working knowledge of After Effects, including template building, motion graphics integration, and delivery output workflows.
  • A portfolio or reel showing editorial judgment across multiple formats, with clear examples of motion design work built as part of the editing process rather than treated as a separate discipline.
  • Experience managing complex creative projects with multiple stakeholders and seeing them through to final delivery with limited oversight.
  • A working understanding of brand systems and how visual standards translate into consistent, on-brand video content across channels.

Why This Role

Motive serves the physical economy, and the Brand Studio has a genuine brief to tell stories about the drivers, owners, and businesses that run it, which gives this role more editorial range than most in-house brand positions. The team is building its motion language from a relatively early stage, so the Video Editor & Motion Designer coming in will have real influence over how that system develops and scales. This is a staff role with the scope and cross-functional access that usually only exists at larger studios or well-resourced agencies.

Apply now for the Video Editor & Motion Designer position at Motive and bring your editorial and motion craft to a brand studio with something worth saying.
