Disney is hiring a Seasonal NFL GameDay Morning Production Assistant to join the ESPN NFL Media team in Los Angeles, CA. It suits an early-career TV production professional who knows the NFL inside and out and is ready to work inside a real live sports production workflow.

About the Role

You’ll be embedded in the production department of NFL GameDay Morning, working across the full weekly cycle of a live studio show on a Wednesday through Sunday schedule, with Sunday call times starting at 3:00 a.m. PT. The work spans pre-production research, video coordination, editorial support, and real-time coverage of breaking league news, press conferences, and game action. This is a seven-month seasonal position structured around the NFL calendar, giving you a full season of live television production credits at one of the biggest sports media operations in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the teleprompter during live studio broadcasts, coordinating with talent and control room staff in real time.
  • Work directly with editors to build video elements, music montages, and B-roll packages for on-air segments.
  • Monitor live games, league news, social media, and press conferences to surface editorial opportunities for producers.
  • Research NFL statistics, historical information, and current storylines to support rundown planning and segment development.
  • Prepare and distribute production materials including scripts, rundowns, and supporting documentation ahead of each broadcast.
  • Coordinate video, graphics, and editorial requests across multiple departments within the live production environment.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or broadcasting, or equivalent hands-on television production experience.
  • Zero to three years of experience in live television, digital media, or sports production.
  • Familiarity with newsroom systems such as ENPS and non-linear editing tools including Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast graphics workflows and general television production processes.
  • Strong NFL knowledge covering current rosters, coaching staffs, league news, and team history.

Why This Role

ESPN NFL Media is the production arm behind some of the most-watched sports television in the country, and a season on NFL GameDay Morning puts you inside that pipeline at Disney, working on live studio production at a scale few entry-level roles can match. The seven-month contract runs the full NFL season, with consistent 40-plus hour weeks that build genuine live broadcast credits across every phase of show production.
