Job Type
Disney is hiring a Recurring Remote Production Support Graphics Interface Coordinator (GIC) to work fully remote across the United States. This role sits within ESPN’s broadcast operations department, responsible for the real-time execution and accuracy of on-air scoreboard graphics, including score bugs, clocks, and live game data across ESPN’s live sports broadcast platforms. It’s a role built for someone who understands both the technical side of live television production and the rhythms of sports broadcasting well enough to keep up with game action as it happens.
About the Role
The Graphics Interface Coordinator operates within ESPN’s Business Operations and Management team, supporting live sports broadcasts that air across ESPN’s network of platforms. A typical shift involves pre-show equipment checks, real-time data entry during game action, and close coordination with producers and associate producers to ensure graphics reflect the story the production is telling. Post-game, this role is also responsible for filing detailed technical reports with the Software Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter scoring data, penalties, player statistics, and game reset information accurately and in real time as game action dictates during live sports broadcast production.
- Coordinate with producers and associate producers on the construction and timing of interface graphics that appear on air.
- Perform pre-broadcast equipment checks on score bug systems, verifying comms, tallies, and on-screen display before going live.
- Assemble, network, and troubleshoot multiple computer scoring systems, including connecting to stadium in-house scoreboards for clock and data transfer when required.
- Diagnose system problems quickly and resolve them without disrupting the live broadcast workflow.
- Submit detailed post-game technical reports to the Software Engineering team after every event.
What You Bring
- Advanced knowledge of sports rules, scoring systems, and in-game trends across multiple sports.
- Hands-on experience in a stats, graphics, or live television production role, preferably within episodic or live broadcast environments.
- Strong computer networking and file management skills with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure during live production.
- Experience working with television graphics platforms and broadcast scoring systems.
- High School Diploma required, with a Bachelor’s degree in communications, electronics, or television production preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as production schedules require.
Why This Role
ESPN’s live sports production operation is one of the most demanding and high-volume broadcast environments in the industry, and this role puts you directly inside that workflow on a recurring basis. The pay rate for this remote role is $40.00 to $60.00 per hour, with the actual rate depending on geographic region, experience, and relevant skills. For a graphics or operations professional looking to build credits in live television production at a major network, this is a substantive, recurring position with real scope.
Apply now for the Recurring Remote Production Support Graphics Interface Coordinator (GIC) role at Disney and bring your live broadcast production skills to one of the largest sports networks in the world.
