Key Responsibilities

• Pitch story ideas spanning breaking weather events and weather-themed feature segments for live streaming broadcast.
• Support senior producers in assembling segments, managing the production timeline around breaking news, and tracking long-term projects through completion.
• Screen and select user-generated content from social and digital sources, evaluating footage for editorial value and broadcast usability.
• Write lower-third banners and on-screen text copy to meet the quick turnaround demands of live television news production.
• Edit video packages and source graphics to build compelling, broadcast-ready segments across weather coverage formats.
• Occasionally book guests and coordinate their availability around a live news broadcast schedule.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a broadcast or digital news environment.
• At least one internship or entry-level production role in television news, digital media, or a related broadcast production context.
• Comfort working across social media platforms as both a sourcing and monitoring tool within a live news workflow.
• An interest in weather coverage specifically, with any prior meteorology or weather media experience considered a plus.
• The ability to manage several tasks simultaneously against tight deadlines in a live broadcast production setting.
