Job Type
Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Maintenance/Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical/Assembly Technician for their Reliability Maintenance Engineering team in Nottingham, UK. This RME Technician role sits within the technical operations division, keeping the mechanical, electrical, and automated systems that support large-scale studio and fulfilment infrastructure running without interruption. It suits a hands-on engineering professional with a background in industrial maintenance, fault diagnosis, and preventative systems work across live operational environments.
About the Role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon MGM Studios handles the technical backbone of site operations, from automated assembly systems to electrical infrastructure and distribution equipment. As a Maintenance/Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical/Assembly Technician, your day moves between scheduled preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response, and continuous improvement projects. You will work across shift patterns, including nights, to keep critical production and operational systems available around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment across the Nottingham site to reduce unplanned downtime in live operations.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in real time, diagnosing faults and implementing solutions to restore function with minimal disruption to operational workflow.
- Use engineering diagnostic tools and site management systems to monitor equipment effectiveness and flag performance issues before they escalate.
- Maintain full compliance with Health and Safety regulations across all maintenance activities, keeping the site legally compliant and colleagues safe.
- Support on-site apprentices through day-to-day guidance, helping develop the next generation of RME engineering professionals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and assist in rolling out updated maintenance practices across multiple sites within the EU network.
What You Bring
- Demonstrable experience in industrial or commercial maintenance engineering, covering mechanical, electrical, or automated systems in a live operational environment.
- Competence in fault diagnosis across a range of equipment types, including conveyor systems, automated sorters, or equivalent industrial machinery.
- A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship, such as a City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with CMMS or similar planned maintenance software used in large-scale facility or production operations.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, within a team that covers continuous site operations.
Why This Role
Amazon MGM Studios operates at a scale that few engineering teams match, with exposure to automated systems including Amazon Robotics and complex item sorting technology not found elsewhere in the industry. The RME team offers a genuine internal progression path, both within the engineering function and across wider technical operations globally. This is a stable, long-term staff role with direct access to senior engineering leadership and cross-site project work.
Apply now for the Maintenance/Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical/Assembly Technician position with Amazon MGM Studios in Nottingham and bring your engineering expertise to one of the most technically active operations teams in the business.
