This role sits within the post-production workflow of a daily television news operation, where the Editor cuts and delivers finished video content for multiple broadcast shows and digital platforms. It’s a strong fit for a preditor comfortable owning stories from rough assembly through final export under tight daily deadlines.

About the Role

The Editor works inside TMZ’s television production environment, cutting content pulled from various sources for both broadcast air and web publication. A typical day involves managing several editorial projects simultaneously across departments, shaping raw footage into stories with clear editorial judgment and pace. This position reports to the Supervising Producer and works across episodic television deliverables as well as additional creative projects as they come up.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and produce video content daily using Adobe Premiere, applying editorial judgment to shape story structure, pacing, and tone from start to finish.
• Cut and export video images using Photoshop as part of the standard post-production workflow.
• Function as a preditor on stories, producing and editing content independently within the daily broadcast cycle.
• Coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously to keep editorial deliverables on schedule across episodic television and web formats.
• Source and prepare video from multiple acquisition points for both broadcast and digital publication.
• Maintain quality and consistency across all output while adapting quickly to shifting priorities in a daily news production environment.

What You Bring

• 3 to 5 years of video editing experience is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is required, not negotiable.
• Prior credits on a television show, whether news, broadcast, cable, daytime talk, or reality, are preferred.
• Genuine interest in entertainment and celebrity news is a plus in this particular editorial context.
• Comfort working across Mac and PC environments, with working knowledge of Slack and MS Office Suite.
