Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

FOX Entertainment is hiring a Production Assistant, Homepage & Social Media to join the digital news team in New York, New York. This role sits within the Homepage and Social Media department, where the day-to-day output is programming FoxNews.com, FoxBusiness.com, and the corresponding mobile apps alongside Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn. It is a strong fit for a junior digital media professional who has worked in a breaking news workflow and understands how editorial decisions and visual presentation drive real-time audience engagement.

About the Role

The Homepage and Social Media team operates as the editorial front line for two of the most trafficked news destinations in cable television digital media, making content and placement decisions around the clock. As Production Assistant, Homepage & Social Media, you will be writing headlines, curating photography, and reading analytics to determine what stories get promoted and where on the homepage. A typical shift involves monitoring live streams and press conferences, pulling wire service images, and building photo montages and slideshows under deadline pressure alongside editors and reporters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and update headlines across all content verticals for the FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com homepages in real time.
  • Read real-time analytics platforms to make content placement decisions that reflect current audience traffic and interest.
  • Monitor live streams and press conferences to flag and surface video content for homepage integration.
  • Select and coordinate photography from wire services, network feeds, and content partners to support breaking news coverage.
  • Build photo montages, collages, illustrations, and slideshows for placement across both digital news platforms.
  • Program social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in coordination with the broader homepage editorial workflow.

What You Bring

  • A college degree in journalism, graphic arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working in a daily breaking news environment.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Canva, with familiarity with Illustrator considered a plus.
  • Prior experience inside a content management system, though training is provided for the right candidate.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays as required by a live news production schedule.

Why This Role

FOX News Media reaches 200 million people each month and has ranked as the number one cable news network for 20 consecutive years, which means the homepage work here carries genuine editorial weight, not training-wheel traffic. This Production Assistant, Homepage & Social Media position offers direct exposure to high-volume digital news production workflow at a scale very few entry-level roles can match. The pay rate for this role is $19.00 to $27.65 per hour, with final offer dependent on education, skills, and experience, and the position includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off benefits.

Apply now for the Production Assistant, Homepage & Social Media role at FOX Entertainment and start building your career in digital news production at one of the country’s most-watched media brands.
