Lionsgate is hiring a Director, SVOD/AVOD Licensing to join its Worldwide Television and Digital Distribution team, based in Los Angeles. This role sits at the center of Lionsgate’s global streaming distribution operation, responsible for structuring and closing licensing deals across subscription and ad-supported video on demand platforms for the company’s 20,000-plus title content library and current programming. It suits a seasoned digital distribution professional who has spent years negotiating directly with major streaming platforms and understands how windowing strategy affects content valuation across international markets.

About the Role

The Director, SVOD/AVOD Licensing reports to the SVP of International TV and Digital Distribution and works across the full deal lifecycle, from pitching content packages to closing complex multi-territory agreements with global streaming partners. Day-to-day, this person is evaluating title availability windows, aligning with Legal on rights and exclusivity terms, and tracking how licensed content performs across platforms in terms of placement and audience engagement. Cross-functional coordination with Sales Planning, Finance, Marketing, and Operations is a constant part of executing deals at this level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end deal execution for SVOD and AVOD licensing agreements globally, including negotiation of rights, holdbacks, exclusivity, and financial terms in coordination with Legal.
  • Manage relationships with key global streaming platforms as the primary point of contact, identifying new platform opportunities to extend Lionsgate’s digital distribution footprint.
  • Partner with Sales Planning and Strategy to assess content windowing, pricing, and availability across the international streaming landscape.
  • Oversee title selection with platform partners, balancing platform programming needs against the company’s broader content strategy and revenue targets.
  • Monitor licensed content performance across streaming platforms and deliver regular pipeline and market trend analysis to senior leadership.
  • Mentor junior team members on deal processes, partner management, and strategic positioning within the global SVOD and AVOD distribution business.

What You Bring

  • Six to ten or more years of experience in TV distribution, digital licensing, or streaming media, with a proven record of closing complex SVOD and AVOD deals at a global scale.
  • Established relationships with major streaming platforms and a working knowledge of international content licensing and distribution windows.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in rights management systems and data analytics tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority deals across different markets simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Why This Role

Lionsgate operates one of the largest independent content libraries in the industry, spanning film and episodic television, which gives this role genuine scope across genres, formats, and international streaming distribution markets. The Director, SVOD/AVOD Licensing has direct influence over how that library is monetized globally, working at a level where deal strategy and execution are inseparable. For a distribution professional looking to operate at the intersection of content valuation and global streaming platform relationships, this is a substantive step.

Apply now for the Director, SVOD/AVOD Licensing position at Lionsgate and bring your distribution experience to one of the industry’s most active independent content companies.
