Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Disney is hiring a Production Coordinator for ESPN at its world headquarters in Bristol, CT. This role sits inside ESPN’s production operation, supporting a portfolio of assigned sports shows and live remote telecasts across studio, event, and packaged production formats. It’s a strong fit for a production professional who’s been working in broadcast or sports television and is ready to step into a coordination role with real budget and logistics ownership.

About the Role

The Production Coordinator works across ESPN’s sports programming groups, handling the operational infrastructure that keeps live sports television and studio production running on schedule and within budget. Day to day, this means managing facility requests, coordinating personnel scheduling, liaising between production and outside vendors, and making sure sensitive materials, contracts, and budget tracking stay current. During broadcast peak periods, availability outside standard hours is part of the job, and domestic or international travel for productions is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between assigned sports and show units and internal ESPN departments, as well as external production vendors and entities.
  • Work alongside Remote Operations to develop and manage on-site event logistics and broadcast infrastructure for live telecasts.
  • Negotiate production services agreements with external personnel and companies in coordination with ESPN Legal and Contract Management.
  • Track budgets and production expenditures across assigned shows, sport groups, and special projects to maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Oversee scheduling of production personnel, including tracking overtime and vacation, with support from the Production Manager or Senior Coordinator.
  • Train new hires and existing staff across multiple production roles on departmental processes, systematic workflows, and show unit procedures.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 2 years of production or operations experience in broadcast television, live sports production, or a comparable production environment.
  • Working knowledge of studio show production, remote event broadcasts, and packaged show formats across different production models.
  • Experience processing production contracts and invoices, managing travel logistics, and maintaining personnel scheduling across episodic television or live event production.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage high-volume communication and time-sensitive decisions without dropping detail.
  • Proven ability to identify production workflow problems and implement solutions before they affect air.

Why This Role

ESPN operates one of the largest live sports television production pipelines in the industry, and this position puts a coordinator directly inside that infrastructure at the Bristol headquarters. The scope of sports categories, volume of live production, and cross-departmental exposure make this a legitimate step forward for someone building a career in broadcast production coordination. Disney’s production operation offers the kind of institutional scale that is difficult to access anywhere else in sports television.
