Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Internship
Compensation: Paid Internship

Disney is hiring an International Casting Intern for its Burbank, CA offices, with the position running full-time from August through December 2026. This role sits within Disney Entertainment Television’s International Casting team, a small group focused on identifying and tracking global talent across LATAM, APAC, EMEA, and Canada for US episodic television production. It suits a film or media student in their senior year who has some grounding in casting, talent representation, or international entertainment and wants direct exposure to how a major studio builds its global talent pipeline.

About the Role

The International Casting Intern, Fall 2026 works inside a department driving a specific initiative: expanding the roster of international actors appearing in Disney Entertainment Television productions. Day-to-day work involves a mix of talent research, database management, script coverage, and logistical support for talent meetings. The intern reports directly to the Manager of Casting and gets real visibility into how casting decisions are made at the studio level, including shadowing meetings and calls with casting directors, agents, and producers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research up-and-coming international actors across Latin America, APAC, EMEA, and Canada, tracking their career trajectories and identifying candidates suitable for Disney Entertainment Television projects.
  • Monitor international film festival slates including TIFF, San Sebastian, and Venice to flag emerging talent and notable international productions relevant to the department’s casting strategy.
  • Maintain and update the team’s casting databases across AirTable, Qwire, and SharePoint, along with the phone sheet in Edge and the project status tracker in Excel.
  • Read incoming scripts and write detailed character breakdowns to support both international and domestic casting projects in active development or production.
  • Coordinate talent meetings end-to-end, including booking conference rooms, preparing materials, and escorting talent through the studio.
  • Track international television trends and analyze how shifts in regional content markets affect casting decisions across the department’s active slate.

What You Bring

  • Senior-year enrollment in a Film Studies, Communications, or related program is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Canva is required; working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or QuickTime for editing and uploading actor materials is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in a production or research context is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in a casting office, talent agency, or production environment, whether through internships or volunteer work, strengthens an application considerably.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred, and any international background, including time spent living or studying abroad, is directly relevant to the team’s work.

Why This Role

Disney’s International Casting team is operating at the intersection of global content strategy and episodic television casting, which makes this internship a genuine window into how a major studio approaches diversity and international viewership at the production level. The International Casting Intern, Fall 2026 position offers direct mentorship from a casting manager rather than the arm’s-length supervision typical of larger intern programs. For someone aiming toward a career in casting or international television development, the relationships and workflow exposure here are hard to replicate elsewhere.

Apply now for the International Casting Intern, Fall 2026 position at Disney and submit your cover letter indicating your specific interest in the role as part of your application.
