If you understand what makes someone stop scrolling, understand marketing and consumer psychology, have exceptional attention to detail & editing skills, and you can execute that instinct consistently… this role will keep you busy, well-paid, and doing the most interesting work of your editing career.
We’re a growing ecommerce operation running multiple brands across AU, the US, Canada and NZ. Video creative is everything to us. We don’t run agencies. We don’t outsource strategy. We test fast, scale what works, and we’re looking for an editor who wants to be at the centre of that, not on the periphery of it.
What the work looks like:
• Split-screen direct response ads – actor footage + b-roll, synced and punchy
• Emotional music-format videos built around b-roll sequences and text overlays
• UGC and talking-head edits as needed
• Across multiple brand verticals – you won’t be editing the same template forever
What you need to bring:
• A genuine obsession with hooks – you think about the first 3 seconds before anything else
• Natural human instincts (Don’t accept AI slop as satisfactory)
• Pacing instinct that feels motivated, not mechanical
• Clean text overlay and caption work that feels native, not slapped on
• Confidence working with pre-keyed actor footage and split-screen layouts
• Music selection that builds emotion, not just fills silence
• CapCut, Premiere, or DaVinci – we don’t care which, results are all that matter
• Fast turnaround. We move quickly and need someone who does too.
What this actually becomes:
This starts as freelance; 10 to 15 videos per week at $40–60 per finished video.
But we’re not looking for a one-off contractor. If you’re exceptional, this grows into an ongoing full-time remote role with consistent volume, consistent income, and genuine creative ownership across an expanding brand portfolio.
The right person will be editing across new product launches, new niches, and new markets within months of starting. If you want a role where your work directly drives growth and you can see it, this is it.
This isn’t for you if:
• You need a lot of back-and-forth to get to the standard
• Your reel is mostly weddings, corporates, or long-form YouTube
• You want to stay in one lane; we move across categories
How to apply:
Send 2–3 examples of video ads you’ve edited; DTC ecommerce preferred but not required if your instincts are obvious from the work.
We shortlist based on portfolio, then ask top candidates to complete a short test edit using assets we provide.
The test is unpaid, you keep full rights to the video and we won’t use it. Candidates who impress us move straight into a paid trial.
