Assistant Showrunner/Head Screenwriter

Job Position(s): Assistant Showrunner/Head Screenwriter

 

We are a Toronto production company who produces award-winning television. We are seeking to expand our successful team for the new 13-episode season of our established scripted comedy Television series.

Must Be:

• Non-Union
• An Ontario resident for the past two consecutive years
• A Canadian citizen
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Leader with strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Working directly under executive producer and showrunner
• Assisting in leading writers rooms and communicating showrunner’s notes
• Creating, writing and recording creative notes and transforming into scripts
• Recording dialogue for retro scripting on-set during rehearsals and shoots
• Assisting showrunner in tasking and managing creative team (writers and story producers)
• Creating and reviewing pitches
• Arcing storylines
• Preparing paper edits and working with editors (AVID)
• Complete tasks on budget

Assets:

• Experience in writers rooms
• Comedy and Improv experience
• Experience with both scripted and unscripted shows
• G Driver’s License

Rate based on experience.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
