About Us

TDJ Australia is a proudly Australian-owned company with over 40 years of experience in automotive electronics, car audio, and vehicle safety solutions. We distribute leading brands including Aerpro, Gator, Clarion, Audison, Hertz, STP and Thinkware, and support an extensive network of automotive retailers and professional installers nationwide. Our focus is delivering industry-leading brands, high-quality products, and comprehensive local technical support.

The Role

We’re looking for a creative, technically minded professional to take ownership of two key areas within our marketing department: videography and product documentation. You’ll bring our brands and products to life through engaging video content, while also creating clear, high-quality product manuals that help customers get the most from their purchase. You will also provide day-to-day support to the marketing team across a variety of activities. If you love visual storytelling and enjoy getting hands-on with products to understand how they work, this role offers the ideal blend of creative and technical work.

Key Responsibilities

Videography & Video Content (Primary Focus)

  • Lead end-to-end video production for a wide range of marketing needs, including:

    • Product feature videos, unboxing content, educational content, installation guides, and tutorials

    • Brand and campaign videos

    • Installer testimonials and case studies (on-site filming required)

    • Trade show and event coverage

    • Social media content (short-form and long-form)

  • Operate and manage professional camera, audio, and lighting equipment

  • Film in-house, on-site, and at industry events

  • Edit and post-produce videos, including motion graphics, colour grading, and sound design

  • Present on-camera and deliver clear, professional voiceover narration when required

Product Manuals & Technical Writing (Primary Focus)

  • Create and update product manuals, quick-start guides, and technical data sheets

  • Create or source diagrams, annotated images, and other visual aids

  • Get hands-on with products to fully understand their operation and translate that into user-friendly instructions

  • Collaborate closely with product and technical teams to ensure accuracy

  • Continuously improve documentation for clarity, consistency, and ease of use

Marketing Department Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Support the marketing team with daily activities, including:

    • Social media management

    • Product launches

    • Content creation

    • General day-to-day marketing tasks

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in videography and video editing, with a strong portfolio (branding, product, marketing focus)

  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing (manuals, guides, instructional content)

  • Advanced proficiency in professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar)

  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Affinity equivalents for document layout, diagrams, and image editing

  • Confident in operating professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information

  • Comfortable appearing on-camera and recording voiceovers

  • Detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to manage projects independently

Highly Advantageous

  • Practical experience with car audio installation, automotive wiring, or automotive accessories

  • A genuine interest in the automotive or consumer electronics industries

  • Relevant degree qualification preferred (Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, or related technical fields)
