Experteer Overview In this Lead VFX Artist role, you will direct a team to create high-fidelity real-time visual effects for Project Sirius, a multiplayer title set in The Witcher universe. You’ll shape VFX strategy, pipelines, and collaboration with gameplay, cinematics, and environments to elevate storytelling and gameplay. The position anchors the Boston studio’s hybrid work model, offering leadership, technical innovation, and impact at scale. You’ll mentor peers, prototype new workflows, and ensure optimized, striking visuals within production milestones. This is a chance to influence the next generation of real-time VFX in a revered IP and grow a creative, inclusive team. Compensation / Benefits • Lead and mentor a team of VFX Artists, fostering collaboration and growth • Design and implement impactful real-time VFX for diverse game moments • Advance technical excellence and artistic creativity across the VFX pipeline • Guide career development and performance for team members • Collaborate with gameplay, cinematics, and environments to deliver immersive visuals • Research and prototype new workflows, tools, and techniques for real-time VFX • Ensure VFX content is performant and within technical constraints • Oversee outsourced work, briefs, and quality of external collaborations • Coordinate with Directors and Production to align VFX with milestones • Maintain an efficient, scalable production pipeline Tasks • 8+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in game development • Shipped at least one AAA title as Lead VFX Artist or in a senior leadership role • Proven leadership experience mentoring others and guiding project direction • Deep expertise in Unreal Engine 5 and real-time VFX development • Strong proficiency in real-time and baked simulations • Solid knowledge of VFX pipelines and tools including SideFX Houdini • Understanding of PBR workflows, shaders, real-time rendering, and lighting • Advanced skills in performance optimization and debugging • Ability to lead high-impact initiatives and solve complex challenges • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills • Strong portfolio showcasing VFX for games Key requirements • company-paid medical healthcare (dental, vision, and mental) • free mental health support and counseling • paid leave – 26 days of holiday per year • 401K with employer matching • gym membership reimbursement • menstrual leave
