Maria Norris

I graduated with a BFA from Syracuse University in 2019 where I majored in film & transmedia. I love all things animation.

Since graduation, I’ve worked in a variety of productions and I’m very comfortable and familiar with the production process from pre-production to post. In my most recent role, I worked as a Lead Producer, director and editor for Buzzfeed. I produced over 30 videos for three different episodic series - including a new miniseries I developed on my own which included animated sequences. My position was very hands-on, and I was involved in every stage of production. Some of my weekly responsibilities included creative pitching, pre-production research & planning, organizing files, drafting & writing scripts, creative briefs, and other production-related paperwork, art direction, set design, working with various departments, coordinating meetings, writing up shot lists, directing talent, multi-camera directing, field & studio AV recording, helping out in various roles on set, creating & editing assets, post-production editing, stop-motion animating, collaborative creative and legal reviews, quality control, obtaining legal releases & licensing, exporting, uploading and packaging videos for online publishing.
