Composer
Alan plays brass and percussion in brass and wind bands and orchestras, as well as conducting, composing, arranging and teaching. He is currently Musical Director of the Royal Wootton Bassett Orchestra and conductor of the Film Orchestra Cheltenham. He has previously conducted Bath Philharmonic and Birmingham Philharmonic with guest soloist Willard White.
As a composer Alan has written for the Wiltshire & Swindon Youth Orchestra, and conducted the orchestra on tour in China and Hong Kong. He has also composed the sound track for a short independent film “A Nod and a Wink”
