Volunteer Casting Call In Vancouver

Logline: Caramel is a short drama projecting from the mind of Miles, a recently stationed marine in search of forgiveness from a loved one he abandoned.

Circumstance:In an effort to break the cycle of intergenerational financial instability, Miles flees to the navy abandoning the mother of his first child days before her expected pregnancy. Two years later he returns, desperate to rebuild the life he left behind.

A recently deployed marine originally from the country town of Trail, BC. He was destined to stay in Trail forever, however Miles has always had a dream of redefining himself in another city. Miles was always clever and persistent at subjects that engaged him, like photography and the arts. Although he had a hard time focusing on anything he found irrelevant and chose to apply that disengaged time into something he enjoyed.

Amy is the youngest of 4 and was raised outside of Trail by her mother and father. Her parents didn’t believe any of their children could have a life outside of Trail. Amy is uniquely beautiful and her parents reassured her that if she chooses to be involved with a guy like Miles, they had failed at their last chance to move their entire family up the ladder. She was accepted into University with Miles and the two decided to support each other in repurposing the hand they were given.

Born and bread in a country town and keeps to a strictly strong and conservative mindset. She is stubborn, overprotective and disapproves of her youngest daughter’s budding friendship with an adolescent youth. When Amy and Miles left Trail, her communication became close to non-existent.
