Job Overview

The Videographer supports online course development at the School of Continuing Studies in duties that include but are not limited to:
- Shoots footage and completes editing, including motion graphics and animation.
- Accomplishes the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production
- Transports, sets up, and operates equipment; and assists with staging, set preparation and dressing
- Works closely with instructional designers, graphic designers, subject matter experts, and faculty directors to execute the concept through to completion.
Work Interactions
The Videographer directly supports the mission and goals of SCS and Georgetown University in work that is instrumental to the development of academically rigorous and high quality courses.
Reporting to the Director for Online Operations, they take direction from and works closely with instructional designers and subject matter experts; and work closely with graphic designers and faculty directors to execute video concept through to completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV, Film, Fine Arts or related area
- 5 years of experience operating video cameras and editing equipment
- Knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Cloud, with a particular expertise in After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop
- Ability to create tailored motion graphics and animation
- An exceptional eye for graphic design
- A solid understanding of various compression formats, 4K, and multi-format video recording workflow – as well as basic understanding of audio and lighting techniques
- Ability to understand content and to use creativity to present educational content effectively
- Strong research, audio editing skills and good communication skills
- Excellent vision for editing that enhances videos’ messages and improves the viewer experience
- Excellent project management skills
Work Mode: Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
