The Salem Red Sox are the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and are owned by Diamond Baseball Holdings. We are seeking an organized, attentive, and outgoing candidate to fill the position of Video Production and Game Production Assistant in Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge for the 2025 season.
Job Tasks:
- Under the direct supervision of the Video Production Manager, the candidate will have the duty of assisting in the planning, scheduling, and execution of various video creation, editing, broadcast production, etc. The candidate will assist the Video Production Manager in the day-to-day operation for press box, broadcast, and game cameras at Salem Memorial Ballpark.
- The person in this position will also assist the Video Production Manager in the day-to-day operation of the video board including operation of the Show Control program, Click Effects Audio Program, various Newtek broadcasting equipment, and Sony XD cameras.
- Knowledge is helpful in the training, planning and scheduling the work of subordinate employees; knowledge in broadcast protocols, broadcast equipment, camera equipment and FCC regulations.
- Must enjoy the initiative role and possessing integrity, character and vision.
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated. Must be comfortable working in a very busy environment and be prepared to work extended weekends, nights, holidays, and whenever necessary.
- The position requires graphics to be made using Adobe products for the sales and marketing departments.
Qualifications/Experience:
- To perform this job successfully, a candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are a brief list of the representative knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Candidate with a major in Video Production, Journalism, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in the field.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.)
- The video production experience needs to include sports, news, or commercial video.
- Candidate must be outgoing, energetic, motivated & professional; team player with excellent editing and artistic skills. The ability to essentially create something from nothing.
- Possess good organizational skills. Proactive in making suggestions, creating new ideas & trouble shooting while paying close attention to detail
- Possess the desire to work long hours in a labor-intensive environment with the ability to display strong video production skills.
- Experience with using Daktronics and NewTek Equipment preferred, but not required.
Dates: February/March 2025 – End of Season (September 2025)
