VFX Technical Artist

Our client, a leading game development studio, is urgently looking for a skilled Mid-Level Technical Artist. We need someone who can jump in immediately to create and implement stunning visual effects and destruction systems for a new, unannounced title.

This role is perfect for a proactive artist with a strong command of modern game development tools. You’ll play a crucial part in enhancing gameplay and immersion by crafting high-quality, performant effects.

responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and optimize real-time visual effects (VFX) using Unreal Engine’s Niagara system.
• Design and set up dynamic, interactive environments with Chaos-based destruction systems.
• Integrate Houdini-generated simulations and procedural assets into Unreal Engine pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with art, design, and engineering teams to ensure visual quality and performance goals are met.

qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or in real-time VFX for games.
• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine, specifically Niagara and Chaos.
• Hands-on experience with Houdini for procedural effects and asset creation.
• Solid understanding of optimization techniques for both particle and physics simulations.

Nice to Have

• Experience creating and optimizing shaders and materials.
• Knowledge of gameplay scripting using Blueprints or C++.
• Familiarity with destruction pipelines in released titles.
• A strong eye for visual storytelling, timing, and motion in effects.
