*JOB DESCRIPTION**Project Manager ? Trail Building & Integrated Design**Great Coastal Trail Authority (GCTA)**Location:* *Great Northern Peninsula, NL**Position Type:* Full-Time*Reports To:* Executive Director*POSITION OVERVIEW*The GCTA is seeking a highly capable, multidisciplinary *Project Manager* whose role is designed to oversee the construction and development of trails for the Great Coastal Trail.This position ensures that technical planning, project coordination, field logistics, environmental processes, visual design, and reporting functions are managed efficiently ? enabling the Trail Development Specialist to focus on technical trail layout, ground-truthing, construction methodology, and design excellence.The ideal candidate brings a *PMP Masters Certificate*, *technical and environmental literacy*, *graphic and creative skills*, and strong *team leadership abilities*. This role acts as a _bridge_ between community expectations, project execution, technical design, and organizational workflow.*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Project Management ** Manage day-to-day coordination of trail projects, timelines, schedules, risks, and deliverables.* Working in collaboration with the Trail Development Specialist on design, mapping, data compilation, and field assessment.* Oversee procurement, budgeting, contractor management, and compliance processes.* Serve as the primary organizer and documentation lead for all technical and community-facing project activities.*2. Collaboration with other staff members ** route planning truthing and digital mapping field verification* Data collection for digital mapping process* mapping verification* environmental considerations (i.e., field determination of drainage features such as ditching, culverts, bridges)* construction phasing and supervision of construction crews* trailhead design coordination* Provide in the field guidance on integration and execution of sustainable trail building guidelines that are outlined in the GCTA handbook* Support the development of technical materials for digitization by preparing CAD drawings, maps, graphics, and visualizations under the Trail Development Specialist?s guidance.* Provide field support and logistical planning for surveys, inspections, and site visits.*3. Environmental & Regulatory Support** Prepare or coordinate Environmental Assessments, permit requests, and compliance documents.* Ensure environmental information is integrated into trail design decisions and communicated effectively to the team.* Work with ecological consultants, heritage groups, and community partners to ensure regulatory readiness.*4. Visual Communications, Mapping & Storytelling *Assist in the development of;* GIS maps* Assisting CAD designs* Storyboards/wayfinding signs* Interpretive signage layouts* Public presentations and publications* Translate technical design into materials suitable for community meetings, council briefings, and partner presentations.*5. Community Engagement & Team Leadership** Co-lead community consultations.* Prepare supporting visuals, data summaries, route options, and storyboards.* Lead student teams, contractors, and in-field support crews.* Maintain strong communication among municipalities, government departments, and partner organizations.*6. Administrative & Strategic Support** Develop reports, charts, dashboards, funding documentation, and internal systems.* Support grant-writing processes with technical input and project structure.* Maintain documentation and project archives for long-term trail planning.*QUALIFICATIONS**Required** *PMP certificate** Minimum *5 years? experience* in project management, environmental/technical planning, trail development, engineering experience, or construction coordination* Strong proficiency in *graphic Design* and visual communication tools* Experience working with Environmental Assessments or regulatory processes* Strong coll
