We’re an independent AA studio founded by two brothers with a dream; inspired by games like Anarchy Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Neocron and WoW, we’re pushing the bounds of the genre with polished gameplay, vibrant visuals, and a dash of creative ideas never seen before.

With a passion for immersive world building, our fast-growing team of multi-national talent is using Unreal Engine 5 to build a revolutionary MMORPG that blends traditional philosophies with trailblazing innovation.

Our studio in Weesp is easily accessible by public transport (station Weesp) and car (A1), and offers an environment where positive work culture stands central to effective collaboration.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR

An experienced VFX Artist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for creating a wide variety of visual effects that make our combat and environment feel alive, using Unreal Engine 5.

In this role you will:

  • Create Niagara systems for sci-fi firearms, melee weapons, explosives, ability feedback and environmental effects with dynamic parameters to control the look and feel based on character/weapon properties.
  • Work alongside Tech Art, Animation, Design and Concept art teams to make responsive, performant and creative interpretations of our concepts.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior work demonstrates ability to deliver high quality VFX for real-time applications.
  • Deep understanding of Niagara and its module scripting system.
  • Experience with Houdini, Embergen and/or Niagara Sim Cache.
  • Solid understanding of VFX principles like weight, impact, timing, contrast and silhouette.
  • Understand how to manage Effect Types and scalability settings for a large game with unpredictable numbers of on-screen effects.
  • Able to manage your time and scope to meet the project’s overall requirements.
  • Able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Disciplined in organizing, naming and documenting your work.

EXTRA POINTS

  • Experience with tech art – being able to make tools and scripts to help you and others automate repetitive tasks.
  • Familiarity with advanced material like ray marching, custom depth stencils, SDF shapes, WPO animation.
  • A passion for Sci-Fi, MMORPGs or both!

WHAT WE OFFER

Salary offered is based on numerous factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills and organizational needs.

  • Initial contract duration of 1 year (32-40 hours per week).
  • Yearly full-time gross salary of € 43K – € 68K (including 8% holiday bonus).
  • 25 vacation days per year + additional based on tenure.
  • Annuity/pension (10% of base gross salary, paid monthly).
  • Travel cost compensation (100% of NS train journey or € 0,23 per km of car/bicycle journey, paid monthly).
  • Free lunch.
