Cheers is a family drama about a retired businessman, John, who accidentally tripped over the sidewalk and injured his head on his way home from the grocery store. With the neighbor’s help, they assist him home so his wife, Shelly, can treat him. In a shocking turn of events, they realized the tragic news of Shelly’s fate the minute they arrive at his place.
Male, Age 50+, (Any Ethnicity)
John was once a businessman of a huge supermarket chain, who often relies on his wife’s assistance when stressed. After Shelly’s tragic death, he resigns from his position of three decades and now lives alone in his home. During his years in retirement, John spends his time recalling the memories of Shelly as a widower. His memories blur and is unable to distinguish reality versus fantasy.
Female, Age 50+, (Any Ethnicity)
Shelly is John’s wife who tragically passed away five years ago from a heart attack. Shelly is a loving and supportive housewife and helped John establish his business. To cope with her husband’s stress, she would write soothing letters and cook him chicken soup every time he comes home from work. However, at the same time, she would always nag her husband’s laziness and unreliance to take care of himself.
Paid: Unpaid (will provide food, footage for demo, and film festival tickets)
Non-Union, however, will accept union actors
