STORYLINE:
A young gang member is invited into an old mans home under false pretenses. While robbing the man, the young man learns a lesson about himself.

CASTING COMMENTS:
• We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA.
• This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required.
• Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.
• Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days.
• There will be a fight scene being held.
• The kids must be comfortable acting out that fight scene.
• A stunt-coordinator will be on set.

NATHANIEL – LEAD ROLE – MALE – 12-15 YRS OLD – AFRO-AMERICAN
22 LINES – 6 SCENES
Male, 14 Black American. Nathaniel is an only child to a single mother who struggles to take care of him. Very pure, he is still easily influenced by the world. Nathaniel doesn’t have friends so he thinks joining the neighborhood gang is a good idea. He’s willing to do anything to prove his worth. A good soul stumbled on the wrong path, Nathaniel is on a journey to self-discovery as he learns what it truly means to be himself.

RICHARD – PRINCIPAL ROLE – MALE – 56-65 YRS OLD – AFRO-AMERICAN
34 LINES – 4 SCENES
Male, 64 Black American. A widower, Richard spends his time reading books and baking pies. He has embodied his late wife’s wish to help out so he tries his hardest to help where he can. When Richard sees Nathaniel getting bullied, his instincts kick in and he runs to the rescue. Seeing how trouble the young boys soul is, Richard tries his hardest to push him down the right path.

ARTHUR – ACTOR ROLE – MALE – 14-16 YRS OLD – CAUCASIAN
3 LINES – 3 SCENES
Male 16, Caucasian. Arthur is the leader of his own neighborhood gang. A born leader, Life just comes easy to him. Everyone wants to be him or be friends with him. Spoiled to the teeth, he can’t help but feel arrogant. Trying to see how far his influence can go, Arthur comes up with a plot to steal from an old man. *Must be comfortable swearing and fake beating up a kid*

Open ethnicity. Arthur’s entourage, they do whatever Arthur tells them to do. They are a bunch of yes men who enjoy the fact that they are known because they hang with the most popular. They know they’re cool. *Must be comfortable fake beating up a kid*
