Job Description:

22DOGS, a VFX company with studios in Milan and Tenerife, is seeking an experienced Senior VFX Editor to join our growing team in Milan. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with creative and production teams across multiple high-profile projects. This role offers a unique chance to be at the heart of the VFX pipeline, ensuring the seamless integration of visual effects into live-action footage while leading a small editorial team.

Overview
As the Senior VFX Editor, you will play a key role in managing the editorial process for VFX shots, working closely with VFX Supervisors, Producers, and artists. In addition to handling technical workflows, you will also lead and mentor a small team of VFX editors, ensuring high standards and efficient processes across the board. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and leadership skills, and you will be based on-site at our Milan studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire VFX editorial process, ensuring all visual effects elements are correctly integrated and up-to-date with the latest edits.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of VFX editors, providing guidance and support to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Manage ingest, conform, and organization of all VFX plates, assets, and sequences.
  • Track the progress of VFX shots throughout the pipeline, updating shot lists and ensuring accuracy in deliverables.
  • Collaborate with production and editorial teams to align VFX shots with the current cut of the film or episode.
  • Ensure color consistency, resolution, and frame rate accuracy across all shots and sequences.
  • Handle turnovers, shot reviews, and prepare temp versions of VFX shots for internal and client presentations.
  • Maintain detailed and organized shot files, ensuring proper naming conventions and metadata management.
  • Troubleshoot editorial challenges and work with artists and production teams to resolve any technical issues that arise.
  • Provide support for internal reels, marketing materials, and any additional editorial requirements for the studio.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a VFX Editor in film, TV, or high-end commercials.
  • Advanced knowledge of editorial tools such as Hiero, Davinci Resolve, Nuke.
  • Strong understanding of VFX pipelines and post-production workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in managing shot lists, file organization, and version control.
  • Proficiency in color management, frame rates, and resolution workflows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • This role is on-site at our Milan studio.
