Position: Video and Image Annotation Expert

Type: Contractor

Compensation: $40/hour

Location: Remote

Duration: 4–5 weeks, with potential for extension

Commitment: Up to 40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

Analyze short video clips and images to produce structured annotations capturing subjects, objects, environments, audio cues, temporal dynamics, mood, and storytelling elements.
Collaborate directly with Mercor’s project leads to enhance AI systems’ understanding of complex visual and narrative information.
Apply judgment to decide which attributes best describe a scene and express subtle narrative or emotional cues.
Follow precise instructions and quickly adopt new requirements to improve AI model performance.
Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.

Qualifications

Must-Have

Experience in roles such as movie producer, film editor, screenwriter, archivist, media analyst, or generalist with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Currently residing in the U.S., UK, or Canada.

Start Date

Rolling start dates; we aim to onboard qualified experts within a few days (1–2) of application.
