The successful applicant will be able to work at our offices in Warsaw, Barcelona, or remotely from Poland or Spain.
Plarium is an international developer of award-winning mobile and desktop games. More than 1300 of our specialists work remotely or at offices in Israel, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, and Finland.
We are looking for a talented VFX Artist to help us work on a cross-platform third-person shooter in a realistic setting with innovative gameplay. The project is large‑scale and ambitious, both from a graphics and game design point of view and from a technical perspective.
We create our own products and control all the steps of game development – from ideas to the final stage of implementation. Together with the team, you’ll have an opportunity to influence key decisions in prototyping, development, art, game features, and mechanics.
The successful applicant will lead work in the real‑time VFX area, including building an effective pipeline, coordinating the work of artists, technical specialists, and external partners. They will also be accountable for the quality and integration of visual effects into the game.
Early‑stage project visuals Responsibilities
- Developing high‑quality effects for weapons, characters, and game levels
- Creating concept designs and developing real‑time mobile game VFX in Unity
- Creating simulations and sequences and integrating them with Unity
- Profiling and optimizing effects and game assets
- Approving effects created by external specialists, and providing feedback on them
- Building and optimizing the work pipeline
What we expect
- At least 4 years of work experience in the game industry in a similar role
- Knowledge of the principles of motion, anticipation, dynamics, and other aspects of animation
- Experience creating VFX in Unity
- Experience creating or writing VFX shaders in node‑based editors
- Experience with VFX textures
- Hands‑on experience with particle systems
- Experience working with Git or other version control systems
- Experience organizing the process of creating effects
- English language skills at the intermediate level or higher
- Knowledge of HLSL, C#, or another programming language
- Understanding of mobile device hardware restrictions
- Skills in 3D modeling and 3D animation
- Experience creating and baking UV maps
- Experience creating simulations in Houdini and integrating them with Unity
- Hands‑on experience with Substance Painter and Substance Designer
