About the Story / Film / Director
“MY HEART REMEMBERS” is a feature film based on the novel “My Heart Remembers” by best-selling author Kim Vogel Sawyer. It’s a drama / period piece set in Missouri in 1903.
After the untimely death of her parents, 18-year-old Isabelle Stanton discovers that she isn’t who she thought she was. Born to common folk, orphaned as a baby, she is taken in by a wealthy railroad tycoon family and raised as their own. As the truth comes out, she loses her claim to her inheritance, is disowned by her brother, and her fiance calls off their wedding. She is forced to make a new life across the state as a household servant. In the small town of Shay’s Ford, Isabelle must come to terms with her new reality as she finds her true self, searches for her lost siblings and discovers her purpose.
MY HEART REMEMBERS is an empowering story of self-identity, forgiveness, and redemption as Isabelle’s journey to find her important role and purpose in society unfolds.
The screenplay is written and currently being polished.
