Looking for a PRODUCTION DESIGNER for a short film (60k budget). Logline: Determined to start a new life after rape, Erin abandons her beloved Shepard dog and moves to a new town. Overcoming self-isolation, she begins to fall for her sunny and unassuming coworker Tom, but their growing affection compels her to finally admit the truth about her dog.
We are looking for someone who can create a NATURALISTIC world and convey lower-middle-class suburbia without being too kitsch or generic. The film portrays the organic American Suburban landscapes, which are discordantly oversaturated and faded between elongated parking lots, neon-lit store signs, heat-burnt lawn and dusty townhouses.
There is no graphic depiction of sexual violence, so the film has to contextualize the character’s mental state at all times — from the unopened boxes in her barely decorated living room, to the muted inside of her used car.
The film is going to be shot in Atlanta, Georgia so the ability to travel is a must.
Payment is 210$/12h for the shooting days and pre-production, plus travel expenses and lodging will be covered by the production.
Please, send samples of your works and/or portfolio reflecting your ability to create naturalistic, raw and unpolished worlds. For submission please email.
