JOB DESCRIPTION
TMZ Live is seeking a Production Assistant for our daily television covering the latest in entertainment and pop culture. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, self-starter with news, talk show, and/or sports experience, who can effectively manage multiple priorities within a busy, newsroom environment.
The Production Assistant will be responsible for developing and pitching stories on a daily basis, assisting with booking guests and handling pre- to post-production for our live daily show.
Responsibilities:
- Book on-air contributors, research, pitch, and develop daily “out of the box” show concepts and stories
- Complete screening of all show guests
- Daily collaboration with other Production team members, the editorial team, designers, editors, and other staff to develop creative news stories
- Contribute and assist other team members with the preparation of detailed scripts/notes for on-air talent
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Ideal candidate will ideally have at least 1-2 years of experience in the entertainment industry
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Requires solid knowledge of celebrity pop culture, social media, and current entertainment industry trends
- Must have strong phone and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with celebrities and their representatives (publicists, agents, etc.)
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Adobe Premiere and Photoshop skills are a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $18.00-19.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
