The Content Production & Studio Product team is responsible for driving the strategy, prioritization, and execution of Netflix’s technology investments focused on producing content and managing the production of content. As a member of this team, your focus will be in the Visual Effects (VFX) domain. We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Product Manager to lead the development of cutting-edge, intelligent tools for the visual effects (VFX) industry. This role will focus on integrating advanced computational methods and scalable platform solutions to enhance the efficiency and creative potential of VFX workflows.

You will drive strategy and innovative initiatives to build next-gen and AI/ML-based CG pipelines/workflows by enabling our VFX studios to scale through seamless access to Netflix’s global production infrastructure.

To thrive in this role, you will bring hands-on product, technology and production experience from the VFX domain and a deep understanding of studio production infrastructure and AI/ML, familiarity with essential third-party tools, open-source projects, and industry standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for intelligent VFX toolsets, aligning with company objectives and market needs.
  • Conduct in-depth research into the VFX pipeline, identifying key pain points and opportunities for applying advanced computational techniques to streamline processes that enhance creativity and scale.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, concise product requirements and user stories for engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, artists, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and iteration.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, user research, feature prioritization, and go-to-market strategies.
  • With a deep understanding of VFX production and user experience, identify and execute a user drive product canvas.
  • Champion a data-driven approach, utilizing analytics and user feedback to inform product decisions and measure success.
  • Drive the adoption and impact of new tools within the VFX community, ensuring a seamless integration into existing artist workflows.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on evolving computational and AI/ML technologies and their application within the entertainment industry.

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of bringing complex technical products to market, or 5+ years of working with VFX production technology in a support role
  • Deep understanding of the visual effects (VFX) production pipeline, including experience working with VFX productions and a deep familiarity with their operational challenges, creative needs..
  • Demonstrated experience with AI/ML-driven product development, particularly in areas involving large datasets and sophisticated usecases. AI/ML productization and technology development experience highly recommended.
  • Strong background in platform product management, understanding the complexities of building scalable and extensible toolsets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including artists, engineers, and executives.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $120K – $500K.
