Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Part-Time Podcast Video Editor based in Australia (Brisbane / Sunshine Coast / Gold Coast preferred) with multi-camera video editing skills, exceptional attention to detail and a good sense of humour.

The successful candidate will be responsible for video editing across a number of podcasts that release on a weekly basis. Our roster ranges from personal development, health, business, wealth, science, comedy and pop-culture. Video quality varies depending on the client. You may be working with a single webcam style video all the way through to a multi-camera 4K production.

The right candidate will have a superb eye for finer details. They must be confident working to deadlines, an excellent communicator and have the ability to move seamlessly between projects.

This is a mostly remote role, with opportunities for on-location recording and studio setups in Brisbane and the surrounding areas. We are looking for someone interested in 30 hours per week (4 days per week).

Responsibilities

  • Video editing of podcasts using either Davinci Resolve or Descript (your choice).
  • Creating vertical video snippets for social media from the long-form video.
  • Use Descript to create transcripts, articles and other copy (training will be provided by us)
  • Ability to navigate business organisational software (Trello, Google Suite etc)
  • Uploading completed videos to applicable video host / s
  • Prompt communication with clients via email regarding episode status and feedback
  • Must have high-speed internet and a computer spec’d for 4K video editing

Who You Are

  • Must have experience in multi-camera video editing
  • Descript experience is a bonus, but not a requirement (on-the-job training provided)
  • A strong understanding of the podcast industry is preferable and the role video plays in this space
  • Exceptionally organised with a high level of attention to detail
  • Likes working remotely and thrives in a remote team environment
  • Who We Are

Bamby Media is a podcast production agency based in Australia. We are a completely distributed workforce with no central HQ.

We are a small team that get together a couple of times a year in person for team building fun times.

We also run the occasional workshop at high schools and perform on-location recording sessions for clients or home-studio setups.

We have deadlines to adhere to every single day and that is why organisation and communication is key.

We appreciate that work isn’t your whole life and we encourage you to have other interests. Most of our team are part-time or casual employees that work between 15 – 30 hours a week. The rest of the time we do whatever floats our respective boats.

We believe that creativity comes most easily when there is plenty of time for rest and adventure away from our desks.

Our roster of clients is extremely varied and one of the absolute joys of working here at Bamby Media is all the fun stuff you will learn about that you wouldn’t otherwise have heard of.

We’re professional, proactive and always looking for ways to upskill.
