Photographer & Videographer – Northlight Studios Ltd Location: Whangārei, Northland (travel within Northland and Auckland required) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time About the Role Northlight Studios Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Photographer & Videographer to join our Whangārei-based team. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering 32 hours per week. You will provide professional photography and videography services across three key areas: • Cultural weddings and events (particularly South Asian communities) • Education sector (ECEs, kindergartens, schools) • Corporate and commercial clients (local businesses, branding) Key Tasks and Responsibilities • Capture high-quality photo and video content across events, educational settings, and corporate projects • Operate DSLR/mirrorless cameras, drones, lighting, audio, and video equipment • Post-produce images and video using Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) • Coordinate with clients to plan shoots and ensure high satisfaction • Maintain cultural responsiveness and professionalism, particularly when working with children, whānau, and diverse communities • Support marketing content creation (e.g., social media clips, promotional videos) • Travel across Northland and Auckland for on-location shoots • Maintain and back up digital files and care for equipment Work Hours • 32 hours per week • Occasional early starts, evenings, or weekends required for weddings or school events * Payscale between $32-34 per hour Minimum Skills, Qualifications and Experience • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Photography, Visual Media, or a closely related creative field • At least 5 years of relevant photography/videography industry experience • Proficiency with professional photography and videography equipment • Experience with editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) • Current drone licence for photography • A strong, diverse portfolio covering event, portrait, and corporate photography • Full NZ driver’s licence, or ability to convert an overseas licence • Excellent time management and communication skills • Ability to communicate fluently in two or more South Indian languages (e.g. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada) to support client engagement at cultural events – additional languages are a strong bonus • High level of cultural competency and ability to engage with tamariki, schools, and multicultural communities
