Vewd Media is a media production company located in Hawthorn. We specialise in creating engaging media for schools with an emphasis on sport and event coverage for school websites, promotional campaigns, social media, year books, internal communications, and more through photography and video. We are dedicated to providing tailored solutions to meet our clients’ needs.
Role :
We are looking for a talented Photographer and Videographer to join our team. This is a hybrid role, located in the Greater Melbourne Area with some flexibility for remote work. The Photographer will be responsible for capturing high-quality images and engaging videos for our clients. This includes taking photos and videos of students participating in sport, in class, at events, as well as editing footage and retouching images.
While the role starts hands-on, there is scope for the right person to take on more responsibility over time, including client-facing work and creative leadership. We are looking for someone who is excited by the idea of growing with a boutique media business, not just filling a position.
Casual employment (Part-time or Full-time options may be available in the future for the right person).
Hybrid role : Greater Melbourne Area, some flexibility for remote work.
Training :
A sound knowledge of how to operate a camera for photography and video and post production skills is required however training in our specific processes will be provided.
Availability :
Availability on most Saturdays is a must and some weekday availability would be a plus. We also have occasional work available during the evenings.
Photography Equipment
A full-frame camera and lens set can be provided for shoots. However, if you already own and are confident using your own professional gear, this will be considered highly advantageous.
Requirements :
MUST have drivers licence and access to a vehicle on a regular basis
Current Working With Children’s Check (employee)
Willing to travel for work to different parts of Melbourne and occasionally regionally (regional travel will be reimbursed)
A portfolio showcasing your work that is relevant to this position, particularly sport and event images / video.
Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite including Lightroom and Premiere Pro
Skills :
Communication skills : ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
Creative skills : ability to capture creative and unique images; strong eye for composition and detail
Organisational skills : ability to manage and organise a photo library; excellent time management skills
Technical skills : knowledge of photography equipment, lighting, and techniques; experience with photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and video production and editing would be beneficial
