About the Role
Surfing Australia is looking for a talented and experienced Pathway Videographer/Filmer to join our high-performance team at the Surfing Australia High Performance Centre in Casuarina, NSW. This unique position plays a key role in supporting Australia’s best emerging surfers by capturing world-class footage at training camps, competitions, and strike missions, as well as producing dynamic storytelling content that showcases our athletes and programs.
Working closely with both our High Performance and Media teams, this role is instrumental in supporting coach-led performance analysis and in delivering inspiring, audience-ready content across Surfing Australia’s owned channels.
Key Responsibilities

Capture high-quality video content of pathway surfers at training sessions, DTE (Daily Training Environments), camps, competitions, and strike missions.

Deliver timely video footage to surfers and coaches for performance analysis.

Produce and edit short- and long-form video content for Surfing Australia’s Media & Owned channels, aligned with production schedules and creative briefs.

Contribute to the development of coaching, judging and training resources through educational content creation.

Log, tag and store content in the Surfing Australia library system; manage backups and apply watermarking on coaching content.

Maintain filming equipment and ensure content delivery aligns with the needs of the High Performance and Media teams.
What We’re Looking For
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience filming and editing surf content, with a strong portfolio of elite-level work.

Demonstrated experience working with elite Australian surfers and high-performance coaching teams.

Strong technical skills in land, water, and drone-based filming.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro.

Strong storytelling skills with a creative eye and ability to conceptualise and execute compelling content.

Familiarity with surf media, athlete interviews, and workflow best practices for video storage and distribution.

Ability to build rapport quickly with athletes and coaches; strong communication and adaptability skills.

Valid driver’s licence, working with children check, and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
Desirable
-
Experience with drone licensing and filming permits across various territories.

Understanding of Olympic sports media requirements and the Australian sporting landscape.
