Job Position(s): Sound Designer
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Right Away
Compensation: $2,500
Union Status: Non-Union
PAID – LAST CALL
FOR POST-PRODUCTION SOUND EDITOR/DESIGNER:
Looking for a post-production sound editor/designer that can craft the final sounds for an ultra-low-budget narrative feature, Sometime the Wolf; preferably in the NY/NJ area.
We can pay approx. $2,500, which is the largest piece of our post-production budget. We’ve been working on this feature for almost two years and are now deep into post-production. We made this movie as a small group of young people/students in the hopes of making an original and moving film. Our budget was extremely low and we worked quickly to make the best use of what we had. We cannot pay as much as would usually be expected for a job of this size, but will be paying more for this position than almost any other on the entire project. We know that the sound design (in connection with the score) is critical in telling this story in the most effective way. The film is around 85 minutes and will require detailed sound design throughout the entire piece; mostly ambient sound that makes the world more expansive and highlight emotion. This will be handed off to be mixed/mastered in 5.1 surround sound. We hope to find someone that is hungry to take control of the sound on a project that could have real potential, despite our budgetary limitations.
Over the last year, we have worked out how the film (and each scene) should sound to elevate emotion and tone. We are hoping to find a passionate and skilled sound editor/designer that is interested in being the lead on post-production audio (excluding music) and helping to realize these ideas, while bringing their own, in the final stages of the process. We will all be working closely together to ensure that the piece is cohesive and compelling.
Please email us with a link to past sound editing work that you’ve done. In the coming months we will be submitting to festivals, domestic and international.
I’ve attached some uncolored stills to give you an idea of the tone of the film.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
