Your New Role…
The Warner Bros. Discovery Live Events Operations Team is seeking a Manager of Live Events Operations to oversee the day-to-day preparation, planning and execution of live event sports and entertainment broadcasts across linear and digital platforms. Manager, Live Events Operations is responsible for the assigned business area and partnering with business customers to meet programming and production needs, including facilities management, technology management and staff management. Managers are also responsible for leading at least one Shift Supervisor as well as members of the operational staff to meet the needs of business and programming requirements, working closely to schedule, troubleshoot, and provide performance feedback for the assigned staff. This includes routine upkeep as well as new equipment and/or technology implementation and any processes and/or procedures required to get the job done. Plays a key role in decision making process for hiring and promotional opportunities.
Your Role Accountabilities…
· Provide leadership, guidance, and set positive examples for team members
· Collaborate with internal and external partners
· Handle scheduling and shift planning at a department level
· Participate in planning, prepping, and testing for live events
· Develop and/or lead training and ongoing performance development goals for the team
· Participate in interview and selection processes for new staff positions
· Lead the culture of positive employee relations and team fellowship
· Act as Event Liaison with clients/partners for On-Air Live Events. Often for more than one event at the same time. This can include:
· Determine and/or validate all logistics for event execution
· Develop plans to recover air and plan for contingency needs
· Communicate all pertinent information during the planning stages of high-profile events
· Escalate live event discrepancies and issues as needed
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experiences…
· Minimum 6 years of experience in a Broadcast Operations/Master Control or other high-pressure live environment
· Minimum 2 years in a leadership role, preferably with direct reports
· College degree or equivalent relevant experience
· Ability and desire to work under pressure and in a 24×7 environment
· Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
· Broadcast playout automation experience
Desirable Requirements:
· Fluency in Spanish
· Interest in technology and learning new things
