Full Time Video Editor

Based across the Gold Coast & Sydney, Desire Media is a creative agency specialising in property development and real estate. We’re seeking a talented Senior Video Editor to join our team on the Gold Coast. You’ll work on everything from property tours, promotional videos and social media content to television commercials, film-grade productions and more.

Position:

Based on the Gold Coast, your work life will be as vibrant and varied as the properties we capture. Our Burleigh office provides a comfortable hub for your daily editing craft, while our creative team offers insights and collaboration to push your skills to the next level.

As a Desire Media Senior Video Editor, you’ll be responsible for taking raw footage and bringing it to life. You’ll cut, colour, animate and polish, creatively telling stories that showcase our clients’ visions on screen. You’ll also help drive internal projects and shape our marketing across digital and social platforms.

Your role will see you editing a diverse mix of content shot across south-east Queensland, northern New South Wales, and sometimes further afield across Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently adding value to production work and processes and exceeding through exceptional post-production.

• Oversee their post-production process from start to finish, ensuring that all deliverables are of the highest quality and delivered on time and on Budget.

• Collaborate with the Producer, Director, and other members of the post-production team to develop and execute creative ideas and storytelling.

• Edit content for various platforms, including TVC, digital, and social media platforms.

• Manage and mentor junior editors to ensure the highest quality output.

• Work with the team to continually improve post-production processes and workflows.

• Strong understanding of best practices of the editing workflow from assembly through to colour grade, Sound, Motion Graphics etc

• To assist in the growth of the post-production offering that we have here at Desire Media

• Responsible for being at the forefront of online video trends, technologies and techniques; sourcing and presenting new films, content, ideas or technical gear to inspire the team at weekly WIPs.

• Deliver work that the editors below look up to and inspire the team around you with your work.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional video editing experience, ideally in real estate, lifestyle or commercial production

• Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (colour grading, transitions, sound mixing, titling, etc.)

• Understanding of audio mixing and integrating licensed or original music

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple edits with tight deadlines

• Familiarity with camera formats, frame rates and codecs (while primarily editing, you should still understand the shooting side)
