Freelance Production Assistant

CBS Texas is seeking a freelance/part-time Production Assistant to join our team-oriented production operations. This role is essential for our ‘live’ and pre-recorded television and video productions, both in our Fort Worth studio and on location.

 Job Description:

• Safely operate robotic studio cameras, jib cameras, ENG field cameras, and other systems.
• Assist with various studio tasks, including operating the teleprompter, floor directing, adjusting lighting, and placing sets.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and take direction via an intercom system.
• Communicate instructions and updates from directors and producers to on-camera talent.
• Work on remote productions outside of the studio.
• Adapt to changing schedules, including working early mornings, nights, and weekends on short notice.

 Requirements:

• At least three years of experience in television studio production operations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Aptitude for and interest in working on remote productions.
• Knowledge or experience with control room operations, such as directing, technical directing, audio, or character generation is a plus.
• Lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
