Extras Needed for Happy Gilmore 2 in New York

The long-awaited sequel to the beloved golf comedy that made Adam Sandler a household name is finally filming! Yes, after all these years, Happy Gilmore 2 is officially in production.

Happy Gilmore is back, and filming is now underway in the New York/New Jersey area. Casting directors are actively seeking extras in New Jersey for this upcoming Adam Sandler sequel.

Adam Sandler will reprise his iconic role as Happy.

Netflix, the major streaming platform, announced the production with this press release:

“Adam Sandler Is Picking Up His Golf Club Again As Happy Gilmore – The 1996 Tour Championship winner returns to the golf course.”

Residents of various New Jersey locations are encouraged to apply for paid background roles. Grant Wilfley Casting, based in New York, is looking for locals available to work on set.

The sequel is part of Sandler’s extensive contract with Netflix, a $250 million deal that has resulted in several films for the platform. Netflix announced Happy Gilmore 2 in May 2024, and production quickly followed, with filming now underway in New Jersey.

In Happy Gilmore 2, Adam Sandler returns as the outrageous, slacker-turned-golf-pro character fans know and love.

It’s been almost 30 years since Happy Gilmore’s victory in the Tour Championship, and now we get to catch up with him in a brand-new chapter. Adam Sandler is set to return to the green, along with his legendary slap shot (though no word yet on alligator sightings!).
