The opportunity – Te tūranga

As Craft Video Editor – Seven Sharp, you will be responsible for accurately and creatively edit programs or sequences that meet and exceed customer requirements. To provide craft editing support primarily to the Auckland newsroom, and Wellington and Christchurch newsrooms as required

In this role, you will focus on

  • Create visually exciting and high-quality content that is well structured, conforms to the brief and is of an appropriate standard.
  • Fulfil all editing duties as required and ensure all bookings are completed within deadlines.
  • Gain the confidence, trust and exhibit appropriate sensitivity with clients.
  • Ability to operate editing systems and related technology including Avid Media Composer
  • In-depth knowledge of all Avid editing equipment and Avid edit techniques.
  • Knowledge of file-based Avid workflows.
  • Prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned – including promo editing and other media related duties.
  • Advanced Avid edit, design, import graphics, design basic graphics, titles, keys, colour grade, transitions and concepts.

To be successful in this role,you will need the following

  • Demonstrates high level editing skills and high production values.
  • Applies an in-depth understanding of a range of software and technology to their work, to maximize efficiency and ensure quality of output.
  • Maintains productivity, effective communication and good decision making under pressure.
  • Personal behaviour does not negatively impact on colleagues.
  • Cares for equipment to the highest standard always and takes responsibility for reporting technical faults.
  • Accurately judge’s time involved on any project and can meet deadlines.
  • Solid editing experience with appropriate edit qualifications.
  • High technical expertise including file-based workflows.
  • Experience in Avid.
