CNN Podcasts Editorial Intern: NYC – Fall 2025

Your New Role
This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
CNN Podcasts draws from a wealth of internal resources to create content unique to CNN, in service of spotlighting our journalists and their reporting. The team is part of a company-wide effort to attract new audiences and invest in diverse storytelling. CNN Podcasts intern have the chance to work on breaking news, narrative projects, and everything in between.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Learn to write for audio, from breaking news stories to longer conversations.
- Sit in on interviews conducted by some of the best in the business and learn about the production process.
- Gain experience with our editing software.
- Make personal and professional connections that will be beneficial in your post-collegiate career.
- Past interns have edited episodes of 5 Things and written a companion piece for Chasing Life that was trending on CNN’s home page.
Qualifications & Experience
- Some previous editorial experience, with either audio experience or a demonstrated interest in audio.
- Bonus points if familiar with Descript, but experience using Pro Tools or Audition is sufficient.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self sufficiency.
- Passion for news, politics, history, and popular culture, with ideas for podcast episodes.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; a true team player.
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
- Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

- The duration of the program is 10 weeks
- Program dates:
- Start Date: October 6th
- End Date: December 12th
- Program dates:
- Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
- Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
- Interviewing will take place from August through mid-September. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
