SYNOPSIS:
A young woman is grappling with loss, anxiety, and the transition to womanhood and adulthood. With the intention of honouring generations of mothers and daughters and the emotional legacies they leave behind, the film confronts youth and death and the inevitable push of time.  Co-written by a mother and daughter, ‘When The River Is Not Frozen’ is a meditation on motherhood, loneliness, sorrow, and freedom.

A mother who has a complex relationship with her daughter, and grapples with the loss of her mother.

YOUNG WOMAN (DAUGHTER) – 19 TO 30 YRS OLD – ANY RACE
Physical characteristics: tall, slim build. A young woman grappling with loss, anxiety, and the transition from womanhood to adulthood.
