Casting Call for Student Film Project – Vancouver

Synopsis: Emma is desperate to find love. The only problem is that she’s had one dating disaster after another and she’s ready to give up and just adopt ten cats and be done with it all. Her best friend, Josh wants to see her happy and tries, even dares her to keep trying. Emma reluctantly goes along despite her better judgement only to find out that sometimes relationships aren’t what they seem to be.

Shoot Dates: April 3, 4, 5 (actors who are cast MUST be available for all 3 days) for a full day of shooting (12-14 hours)

This is an unpaid project as it is a student film, but all cast and crew will be receiving IMDB credit. I will also submitting the final film to festivals.

Date / Time: Wednesday, March 11 starting at 2:30pm

Emma (35-45) has been back on the dating scene for three and a half years now and having no luck in finding so much as a date, never mind the love of her life and she’s starting to wonder if there’s something wrong with her. There’s not, the dating scene just sucks. She’s “casually pretty”, kind and has a heart of gold. If only a great guy would come along and recognize that.

Josh (38-45) is Emma’s best friend. In fact, they’ve been friends since they were kids. He’s cute in that geeky kind of way. All he wants is the best for Emma and is trying to encourage her to not give up on love.

Cal (40’s) is Emma’s gay neighbour and is fond of Emma, although Emma is completely clueless to that fact that he’s gay. Call is an upscale casual, trendy kind of guy, but not pretentious. He’s kind and has a good heart and thinks fondly of Emma. (actor must be comfortable with making out with another guy)
