Must be available for rehearsals starting February 16th.
Rehearsals are always on Sundays from 2-5 pm
LAWRENCE – LEAD – MALE – LATE 20’S / EARLY 30’s (max mid thirties) – WHITE
Lead male role He exudes masculinity, both emotionally and physically – Rugged, muscular, intense and brooding. However, his macho persona hides a deep vulnerability just under the surface. A military veteran who has recently returned home where he is forced to reevaluate himself and forge a new identity.
Physicality: 5’11-6’2, muscular build
LAMAR – SUPPORTING LEAD – MALE – LATE 30’S/EARLY 40’S – BLACK (AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN CANADIAN)
Supporting Role A seriously injured former athlete. He is still in somewhat good physical shape but can’t deal with his career ending injury. Lost man who also dealing with a family secret. A militant black man who is very aware of his racial identity.
MARTY JONES – MALE – MID 30’S – BLACK (AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN CANADIAN)
A loving father and husband who is married to a beautiful intelligent black woman RED. Marty is Red’s High school sweetheart both growing up in the same small town.
WINNIE – FEMALE – MID 30’S – BLACK (AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN CANADIAN)
is a woman who has lived her life in a small northern Ontario town. She longs for a life that she sees her friend TAMARA has had the opportunity to live. Winnie hides a deep insecurity within the facade of always being the happy party girl. Despite her environment Winnie, is stylist put together beautiful black woman who knows deep inside her there is more to life.
