Casting Call – Short Film – Volunteer

Casting Call! We are looking for two actors for our short film “BLOW UP”:

Project Type: Student Short Film, Non-Union
Self-Tape Deadlines: December 8th, 2023
Callback sessions: December 11th and 12th, 2023.
Shooting Location: Vancouver, BC
Shooting Dates: January 13th, 2023
Compensation: No monetary compensation. Food provided on set, IMDb credit, and footage will be provided for demo reels.

Synopsis: “Blow Up” is a short comedy film about Lilo, a twenty-something recently dumped woman that wakes up to find that she made a homemade “bomb” after a night of careless drinking. After her best friend, mistakenly sets the alarm on, they have a race against time before it explodes.

Characters
Lilo / Female / 23-27 / Open Ethnicity
Broke, clumsy and heartbroken. She’s not going through her best moment but it’s very loving and fun. She drunkenly made a bomb and now has to deal with the consequences of trying to enact revenge while in a drinking bender.
Kari / Female / 23-27 / Open Ethnicity
A ride or die kind of friend, she deeply cares for Lilo and is aware that she’s hurting. She’s the voice of reason and logic, mostly because she is sober. She won’t let her friend die out of heartbreak and they’ll find a way to get rid of the bomb.
