Currently casting for authentic Native Hawaiian talent.
We are looking for talent located in Honolulu for a tobacco PSA campaign called “The Real Ripoff” with the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline.
REAL RIPOFF CASTING CALL FOR REGIONAL PSA
The Real Ripoff video will feature a woman who has finally realized the financial cost of smoking and, consequently, causing her to miss out on luxuries like eating out, and practicals like fixing her car. She enrolled with the Tobacco Quitline program to quit smoking and start living life as she prefers.
Production will take place in Honolulu, though the production dates are TBD due to COVID19. We were originally planning on filming in early June, but now are just hoping to film by the end of summer 2020. In the meantime, we are moving forward with casting since it can be done digitally.
Since this is a smoke free living campaign, talent should not have used tobacco recreationally for at least 6 months prior to production. This lifestyle requirement does not include tobacco usage related to sacred or religious practices.

FEMALE LEAD (SPEAKING): NATIVE HAWAIIAN FEMALE, Age 33-40
She has had a difficult ride in life and works a tolling physical job. She also is responsible for taking care of her extended family. Finances are spread thin. Her decision to quit smoking doesn’t come easily, but it is a decision she feels good about. A sacrifice she is willing to make for a better life.
Talent must be comfortable speaking to the camera and to memorize dialogue. Alongside the video/photo production our hero talent will also record audio for a local radio spot.

She/he is genuinely happy but hasn’t had it easy in life. In the past she/he smoked to deal with the stress of work and the responsibilities that come with family and bills. Since she/he decided to quit smoking to better her/his health, her/his life has improved. Talent will be used in photo assets. This is a Non-speaking role.
