Associate Manager, VFX – Film New

Netflix is seeking an Associate Manager to support the VFX Senior Manager and team across a variety of duties including – close collaboration during prep and shoot, tracking throughout post production and supporting initiatives to streamline efficiency across vertical activities – such as content delivery, shot status throughout post production and VFX planning etc. This position would focus on a large slate of high and mid budget films working closely with cross-functional teams within Netflix as well as external partners.
The Role

This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is able to pivot when necessary, be an effective communicator and able to exercise good judgment and initiative. The position requires someone who has a high level of aptitude, is proactive and tackles problems with positive persistence.
Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with VFX and production executives to onboard and support film productions produced at Netflix
- Proactively create, update, track and maintain inward and outward-facing production resources and documents (including script breakdowns, critical assumptions, and trackers)
- Create and socialize show folders and distro groups for every project
- Assist w/ script breakdowns
- Liaise with Film Commissions and PSC’s to research/evaluate various production hubs and help create location trackers
- Act as a bridge between productions and internal Netflix teams to ensure both sides receive pertinent updates in a timely manner
- Serve as internal Point of Contact & external liaison for Insurance, Risk, HR, Safety, BTL Legal etc. on a show-by-show basis
- Maintain internal databases for production schedules, crew, and contacts
- Help build LP, department head, and PSC grids
- Create production calendars and explore scenarios based on the size and scope of the show
- Schedule, coordinate, track and attend initial in house kick-off and ongoing production meetings for the various productions
- Serve as the in-house production coordinator for all phases of pre-production through post-production, including start paperwork management, writers’ room and office set up, and additional support
- Train Production Office on workflow and Netflix apps
- Source and set up writers’ room, as well as hire and onboard support staff
- Liaise with prep/wrap accounting to handle start paperwork before accounting crew comes aboard
- Conduct agency outreach to maintain head of department lists for internal tracking and on a project-specific basis
- Research and outreach to potential filming locations and studios globally
- Assist in planning and execution of preliminary location scouts
- Work with production planning to secure stage and overall space
- Gain on set exposure on various productions in multiple cities
- Champion evolving technologies and determine how to incorporate into production workflows
- Liaise with studio technology on initiatives to integrate tech into production workflows
- Work with internal cross-functional teams to maintain studio-wide policies and procedures within P Help Center (production manual)
Qualifications:
- Preference for 4+ years production office or studio experience in feature film or television production
- Strong understanding of traditional production schedules and paperwork
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks across multiple projects at once
- Team player who operates in a fast-paced setting with constant change, supporting shows lead by multiple production executives
- Must exercise discretion in maintaining confidential information
- Strong organizational skills, efficient and detail oriented with proactive mentality and a strong problem solver
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and the Google apps suite
- Familiarity with Shotgun, PIX, Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling, SmartStart (Entertainment Partners) and Start+ (Cast and Crew) payroll systems is beneficial but not required

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location.
The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $50,000 – $235,000. This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy.
